    Samsung Epic 4G Vs HTC Desire Z

    Samsung Epic 4G has been offering the so-called 4G networks as a faster network connection. But the reality 4G coverage could not be found widely not like 3G. Rival to Samsung 4G of this comes from the following HTC Desire about both phones:


    Connectivity:
    Desire Z has 3G network with HSDPA at 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA at 5.76 Mbps since this device arrives at GSM technology. On the other side, Samsung Epic 4G is not a GSM phone, but a CDMA phone that comes with Rev. A at 3.1 Mbps level of speed. But, the rest of the features both phones give you Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP.

    Size & Weight:
    Desire Z has 119 x 60.4 x 14.2 mm of measures and 180 g in weight, while Epic 4G gives you 124 x 65 x 14 mm of measures and 155 g in weight. Size and weight are not big matters to compare to, thus it wouldn’t a big problem if both phones offer different dimensions as long as you see the designs are ergonomic enough.

    Camera:
    As for camera either Desire Z or Samsung Epic 4G offer the same specs, such as, 5 MP of resolutions with 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus, and LED flash. But, Desire Z will only give Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, while Epic 4G gives you additional feature of smile detection.

    Display:
    Talking about the display specifications, it is actually both phones share a balance point as the two devices feature high-end display. Desire Z comes with 3.7 inches screen of S-LCD capacitive touch screen, 16M colors and 480 x 800 pixels, while Epic 4G gives us  4.0inches screen with Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 16M colors and 480 x 800 pixels. It sounds to be a serious battle between HTC Sense UI and TouchWiz 3.0 UI as well.

    Performance:
    Samsung lovers should confess that at this stage HTC Desire Z will be an absolute winner as it comes with Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo), while Epic 4G has only Android OS v2.1 (Eclair). But, as for processor Epic 4G is much better with its ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, while Desire Z has only Qualcomm MSM 7230 with 800 MHz processor.

    Storage:
    Desire Z gives you 1.5 GB and 512 MB RAM for the internal memory and the microSD is expandable up to 32GB. On the other side you will see Epic 4G has 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM and an expandable microSD up to 32GB. Desire Z is bigger then.

    Battery life:
    Desire Z has 430 hours of standby time and 6 hours and 40 minutes of talk time, while Epic 4G hasn’t informed its details of the battery life time.

    So these two phones each have advantages and disadvantages. Depending on you the consumer will choose which one?
