• HTC EVO 4G Guide: Using Automated Text Message Feature

Leaving message on mail box or sending SMS is very common things to do or even keep calling when there is no answer. There are times when you can’t answer like in a meeting, movie theater, doctor’s office or times when you don’t want to answer and you don’t want to be disturbed.

New feature on the HTC EVO 4G lets you automatically send a prewritten SMS to anyone calling from a cell phone or landline that acknowledges the call and lets him/her know whatever’s going on. This feature is available in the stock Phone app and if it necessary you can personalize before sending the message. This is the instruction to do it:

    1. Launch the stock Phone app on your HTC EVO 4G.
    2. Press the Menu button > Phone Settings, here you can toggle whether you want to edit the message before it sends and there is also an option to edit the sending message.
    3. If you want to send the message to the caller press the Menu button from the incoming call screen and tap “Send message.” By doing this you defer the call to your mail box and automatically receive your message. If the caller is using landline which is unable to receive a text message, the SMS notification will be read in a voice call back through Sprint’s Text 2 Landline service.
    4. If you choose to edit before send option then if a call came a message option will appear along with the caller phone number. Here you can edit the message and if it is good to go just press “Send” button. Hope this works fine.
