Re: [IBCP] Re: Change service to Cricket

Hi Pete,

Dunno if this is still the case, but Millenicom used to resell both Sprint
and Verizon, using their own plan. Not at the same time though, because
they use different technology so you'd need two modems.

[IBCP] Re: Change service to Cricket

My daughter in Portland, OR uses Cricket. It works fine for her but when she travels she's pretty much out of luck as far as coverage goes. Their coverage maps are greatly exagerated. Cricket does not use Sprint or Verizon towers. They use their own towers.

[IBCP] Change service to Cricket

I am changing from Verizon to Cricket service (I think). Cricket claims they are 'on Sprint and Verizon' cells. They also claim that they are unlimited usage with 2.5, 5.0 or 7.5 GB broadband tethering or not tethered. Has anyone changed to Cricket and what has been your actual results? We are in Alamogordo and travel in south west up to Seattle. Thank you,
Elmo

Re: [IBCP] OnStar cell connection

Wikipedia says that Onstar uses Verizon CDMA in the US, along with GPS for
location. So I would think that Verizon service = Onstar service. They used
to use Hughes satellite service, but I don't think they do anymore, because
they would have full coverage if they did.

BTW, you can buy a separate Onstar device/service for any vehicle now. The
call it "OnStar FMV" and it's in a rear view mirror.
