[IBCP] palm pixi: can it be tethered at no cost?

I don't see that "PDANet" works with it. Any specific hints?

[IBCP] Re: New with Casio Ravine tethering question.

Steve,

Did you find this page on Verizon's website? It is listed under their VZAM software.

http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=47412

I think this should link you to the drivers that will allow you to use your phone as a modem.

Good Luck

Re: [IBCP] New with Casio Ravine tethering question.

Go to this site and download the version of VZAM for your phone:
http://vzw.smithmicro.com/download/supported.aspx

Note that you will need a data plan:

Re: [IBCP] Compatible Cell Phones

If you have Windows 7 Professional version, it has a compatibility feature that allows hardware to work with it as if it was XP

My present phone is an LG VX5400 for which I have never been able to find
drivers to work with Win 7.  So I am getting a new phone and want to make
sure it will work with my new laptop with Win 7.  I think the site you refer
to will give me the info I need.  Thanks,

Re: [IBCP] Compatible Cell Phones

Perhaps if you post which phone you have, someone on the forum can tell you
whether they have used it with Win 7.

If you look at the list of handsets on this page, you can see whether your phone
is supported by VZAM under Win 7:
http://vzw.smithmicro.com/download/supported.aspx

VZAM will include the drivers.

[IBCP] Compatible Cell Phones

I need to get a new phone but want to make sure there will be drivers for it for Windows 7 as I will use it to get online. Is there somewhere I can get this info online? I'm afraid of losing my old Verizon plan if I talk to a CSR.

[IBCP] Re: Verizon and The Veteran's Discount

Bill
In October we went from grandfathered Alltel to another Alltel plan: FRIENDS & FAMILY10 S/P 500. Which includes 2 iPhones w/unlimited data (just on the phones themselves) and a 2GB 3g Mobile Hotspot. This plan may already have disappeared but you can check. Showing my DD-214 was all that was necessary to save 15% on the main phone line or $89.99 down to $76.49, and I believe would have gotten us free texting, except I already got that as part of the plan.
Only existing grandfathered Alltel plan customers were eligible to join this plan and it showed up nowhere on the Verizon literature in the store or online. The unlimited data on the iPhone is what got me to make the plunge as it wasn't available to Verizon iPhone plans, and was rumored to be 'going away' soon.
